Bins in Liverpool (No.4)

Updated: Aug 22, 2021

December 2018 ♪♪♪

What do you imagine from the city name of Liverpool (Merseyside, England)? Liverpool F.C. or Port cargo transportation? It has been said that the name derived from Old English meaning “muddy water” and “creek”. It is a little bit depressing, although I have had positive image about a city which produced the Beatles.

Almost every bin has only one slot, but it has a big ashtray on the top. It’s lovely for smokers. The litter bins(pictures above and below) were situated on the hill in front of the Liverpool Lime Street station.

The simple litter bins have only one opening which were located near the Liverpool Cathedral and China Town (the below pictures). The weather was not good almost every day during my visit, but I felt cheerful because I came across some fascinating litter bins.

The pictures are the lonely scenery of Albert Dock which was constructed in the middle of nineteen century in the port of Liverpool. A man seemed to be talking with a rubbish bin. How interesting that the bins are melancholy in appearance, perhaps inspired by the gloomy weather and the historical brick red and grey harbor facilities. The bin appears to greet people entering the dock.

When I was not busy observing bins, I was devouring the regional cuisines. During our visit to Liverpool, we had a very impressive dish was of medium rare fillet steak with carrots salad at Cowshed (L1 4BL). It was absolutely outstanding. Four of us appreciated the hospitality of the staffs.

See you soon in the next issue!
